Jarred Taylor is a second-year student at William & Mary Law School. He is a member of the William and Mary Law Review, serves as a graduate fellow at the Center for Legal and Court Technology, and is an officer with the Student Intellectual Property Society. Jarred is primarily interested in Internet law, especially digital copyright, online privacy, and free expression issues.
In summer 2011, Jarred worked as a legal intern for the Electronic Frontier Foundation. Before law school, he was the legal assistant for Google‘s Product Counsel team. Prior to Google, he worked as a paralegal with Williams & Connolly LLP in Washington, D.C.
Jarred grew up in Birmingham, Alabama. He graduated from Davidson College, where he majored in Political Science and French. He studied in Tours, France for a year, played drums for the basketball pep band, and worked for WALT student radio. During his undergraduate summers, Jarred worked as a research assistant for Dr. Patrick Sellers, as a Europe Program intern with the Center for Strategic and International Studies, and as an assistant paralegal with Lightfoot Franklin & White LLC.
From 2005 to 2007, Jarred kept a different personal blog (now retired). In 2008, he took up blogging again by starting Tropophilia with his best friend Taylor Ansley . This website is a mix of Jarred’s thoughts about the Internet and the myriad legal issues it presents, as well as occasional personal updates about his life and career.
